Albert Belle | 1997 Ultra Platinum Medallion #P46 | PSA 7 (Pop 1, 1 Higher)

The 1997 Ultra Platinum Medallion #P46 is one of Albert Belle’s most striking parallels—limited to 200 and featuring Fleer’s signature full-bleed photography with heavy foil treatment. This particular copy is graded PSA 7 and is a Pop 1, with only one example graded higher (a 9).

This card was printed prior to Belle signing with the White Sox, so despite it being a 1997 card, it features him in his Cleveland uniform—mid-swing, in peak form.

Later that year, in Ultra Series II, Fleer issued an updated version (#411) with Belle in a White Sox jersey. That version also received the Platinum Medallion treatment (#P411) making 1997 the only year to feature two different Belle Platinums—one for each team.

As a snapshot of Belle’s final season in Cleveland, this card carries extra weight. No pose, no pageantry—just torque, violence, and control. The Platinum Medallion parallel was notoriously tough to pull, and even tougher to grade due to foil chipping and edge softness. This PSA 7 still presents beautifully in hand, with strong centering and rich color throughout.

For significance, scarcity, and visual punch, this is one of the strongest late-‘90s Belle cards in the hobby.
