In his second season with the White Sox, Belle returned to his slugging ways in ’98, as he shattered the club’s single-season records for home runs and RBI. He really set himself on the path to another monster season with a hot July, setting a Major League record for that month with 16 homers, adding a .406 average and .941 slugging percentage on his way to AL Player of the Month honors.
